What is an AI based energy meter?

As the name suggests, it is an artificial intelligence based energy meter. What this means is that it learns the functioning of the gadgets in the premises on its own. One doesn’t need to feed in any information. Within 2 weeks it would learn all the major electricity consuming gadgets, like AC, fridge, washing machine, geyser, etc. in your premises, on its own. It puts generic items like lights, fan, etc under others.

How does it function?

The installation is very easy, and can be completed in 3 hours, but does need an experienced electrician to do it. So please don’t do this on your own, as you may get a massive shock! The meter sits inside the main distribution box in your premises. The 3 wires coming from mains and going to the MCCB/RCCB are passed through this. Once powered up it has to be connected to the Wi-Fi in the premises. This is easily done through the mobile app, which one can download through the Google Play store or Apple Store. The app is very easy to understand and within 2-3 minutes of installation, it will start recording and showing you all the activities.

Why should you use it?

Monitoring the consumption is the first step to saving electricity. If you don’t know which gadget is consuming how much electricity, how will you control and save? The AI based meter gives you details of how much each gadget is consuming, daily, weekly, monthly and even yearly. It also shows you total instantaneous consumption, as well as consumption for the day, month and year. Based on the daily consumption, it predicts total consumption for the month and can even tell you how much electricity bill you will get.
